  • Question   What about pricing?

    Our prices start at GBP £80/hour (excluding VAT).

    To allow new customers to truly assess the value we bring to your project and business, we are committed to providing the first 10 project management service hours for free*.

    * one-time discount for new customers only who place a minimum work order of 100 hours.

  • Question   How do we engage with a client?

    When we initially engage with a client, a project manager is assigned to the project on a dedicated basis.

    A formal management methodology is then applied in agreement with the client. We are flexible and are prepared to recommend a hybrid approach depending on project needs.

  • Question   What methodologies do we use?

    There are numerous models employed by project managers for the definition, design, development, and delivery of software products.

    Each has its own pros and cons, however we recommend Agile. We have the knowledge and expertise to deliver services within each of the following models.

    Agile

    In an agile context, delivery cycles (sprints) are short, requirements can evolve, team culture is dynamic and there is a strong emphasis on real-time collaboration. We specialize in many Agile frameworks including Kanban, Scrum, Scrumban, DSDM and Lean software development.

    RUP

    Delivery is arranged into iterations across four phases of development (inception, elaboration, construction and transition). Only what is useful and required is produced and the plan is updated throughout.

    Waterfall

    This is a much more traditional approach where each phase of development is performed in sequence.

    In our experience, we discourage this approach as it is extremely top-down with high risk. However, it can work in some cases with low-risk projects on a limited budget where requirements are fully captured from the outset.

    At New Verve Consulting, we apply tried and tested approaches to ensure that projects are managed transparently, completed on-time, within budget and of the highest quality.

    Maximising collaboration

    To facilitate effective communication, we focus on a collaborative approach. We use Jira and Confluence to maximize efficiency and build consensus quickly.

    Through our expertise in the use of collaborative tools and communication platforms such as Google Hangouts and Skype/Lync, we can provide top quality services remotely from our offices based in Scotland. We are of course available to travel as little or as much is required.

    Keeping a tight rein

    By applying formal management methodologies and using collaborative tools, we keep tight reins on costs and delivery timetables.

    Regular reporting ensures that all stakeholders are informed of progress throughout the lifetime of the project.

    Each project manager also keeps a web-based timesheet for recording effort spent along with expenses.
